Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) (April 2003 – Present)
Graphic Designer, Digital Artist/Animator
- Created GUI, supporting graphics, and designed all branding elements for Tabula Rasa, a multi-language, Flash-based E-learning application for the National Defense University (NDU) that has also become a major catalyst for additional projects by being one of the most visible products in our outreach efforts.
- Designed, storyboarded, and animated a video highlighting CTC’s capabilities for the Showcase for Commerce, an exhibition for major defense contractors and subcontractors. This video helped update CTC’s visual identity and provided a backdrop, alongside an updated booth design, for the company’s future endeavors. The prominent success of the video prompted at least 3 other projects within the company to request promotional videos of the same caliber.
Levin Group, Inc. (May 2000 – April 2003)
Graphic/Web Designer
- Led design efforts for the initial OralCDx brand campaign, consisting of a brochure, and one and two-page advertisements in various national dental industry publications. This process placed me in direct contact with the client through presentations and phone meetings. Working with marketing associates and our traffic and production person, allowed us to turnaround the ads and brochure within a two-week period.
- Designed direct mail campaign for the Levin Group newsletter that was sent to dental practices across the entire country. By utilizing cleaner design, simpler copy, and talking to the user from a more personable point-of-view, we attained just over 200 new subscribers in just 2 months. This was well beyond the previous newsletter campaigns that only created approximately 60 subscribers.
- Completed three different iterations of the Levin Group web site over a three-year period. Each design grew in both the design style, and amount of content that needed to be organized. I was responsible for all design, flowcharting, site organization, and maintenance during my tenure at Levin Group, Inc.
- Mentored two different interns during my tenure at Levin Group, Inc. Both were high school students at the time, with one choosing to attend UMBC in Maryland to major in Design. This was a major accomplishment in my mind, because I had helped generate a level of excitement in someone about design and the arts.
Freelance Designer (May 2000 – Present)
- Redesigned The National Grange newsletter, The New Grange. The goal was to improve the visual quality of the organization’s materials, while also attempting to bridge the age gap and appeal to the younger grange audience. The redesign has prompted nothing but positive feedback, and I continue to do the bi-monthly layouts of the newsletter.
- Redesigned the Alliance Storage web site, and developed the site using XHTML and CSS compliant code. Through meetings with the client, we found that the site needed to be revamped to support the company’s growth in the server industry and its future in government contracting. Through an updated design, compliant coding, and reorganization of the information, the site has grown into a truly professional site.
- Provided pro-bono web design/development for The Learning Lamp, a non-profit tutoring organization in Johnstown. This startup organization needed a fresh look to their site that conveyed a sense of being trustworthy and professional. I created a design that retained the educational feel, while strengthening the organizations web presence.
